The Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association (HKOMA) plays a proactive and unambiguous role to unite local eyewear manufacturers over the years. HKOMA is delighted to join forces with The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) in promoting industry development, striving towards business upgrading and transformation for an innovation and growing journey, embracing various challenges and opportunities.

Hong Kong eyewear industry is famous for its pursuit of high quality, innovation and trending designs. Hong Kong is the world's third largest exporter of spectacles and frames, with the export value amounted to more than HK$ 20 billion per annum, and represents a prominent sector in the international market.

In 2018, with the funding support from SME Development Fund of Trade and Industry Department, HKOMA and HKPC collaborated once again to have launched the "Eyewear Engineering Design Guidebook for Better-fit" project, aiming to enhance the quality and competitiveness of industry through promoting and demonstrating "Better-fit" design with the state-of-art technologies, whilst updated the Asian population headform database.

In 2019, with the funding support from the Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund of the Trade and Industry Department from the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association collaborates with Hong Kong Productivity Council to organise the project name "Hong Kong Eyewear Good Design" to promote the superior design of Hong Kong eyewear in Belt and Road markets. encourage creative and high quality Hong Kong eyewear designs to the Belt and Road markets. This shall uplift the edge cutting image of the industry and help nurture a pool of design talents.  

Moving forward, HKOMA will continue to be a close partner of HK eyewear industry’s practitioners in supporting and promoting the vibrant development of the eyewear industry.
